Chapter 1---preface

Like a limpid river, silk culture has 5,000 years of glorious history, flowing slowly in the river of time. Having undergone the one thousand year’s vicissitude, silk, as an adolescent girl from south of the Yangtze River: modest, tender. So we have a sincere feeling with her.
Silk characterizes transparent, elegant, and thin like cicada's wings. Being weaved by the weaving female worker, the smooth silk has possessed Jiangnan’s graceful favor, which can be felt from the fluctuant surface of silk plain fabric.
Silk is delicate, not to mention the sharp blade gently lit, and it will crack. Even if being touched by tough fingers, the smooth silk will pill up. Although, silk owns tenacious feature that solid ribbon is able to bear one thousand pulling force.
Silk is charming. In the moonlight, those singing girls in silk wear sang and danced opposite of the Spring River. It is a sleepless night that the girls waved the silk sleeves in the melody played by the noble sons.
Silk is noble and elegant. In the Shanghai APEC meeting, that President Jiang and the heads of the participating states was dressed in Tang Costume, embellished with flowers and pipa patterned buttons had attracted the sights of the world.
Silk is fashionable. On the Japanese wedding, dressed up with nice silk kimono, the bridegroom and bride receive blessing from friends and relatives. In the west, glamorous female film stars showed on the star-shining path in their silk evening dress, that also reveals the silk’s characteristics: noble and resplendent.
Silk is ancient and having broad impact for transcending the limits of time and space. So many tales are regarding to silk, which is intertwined with too much emotion. The “Silk Road” ties the world and China together. Standing in front of the century-old relics, which are being eliminated as the time goes, along the zigzag road the camels once walked by in the boundless desert, you can still see the moon in Qing Dynasty the strategic castle in Han Dynasty, you can still see the achnatherum splendens swaying in the wind, you can still hear the echoes of the extending-far harps and the wave of tuo lin. These all make up a primitive scene, as an outline of the lonely life.
Today, up-grade silk products have become the symbol of daily necessities of noble and luxury. As its characteristics of breathable, moisturizing, anti-UV, anti-mildew, silk is honored to be the second human skin also for skin caring, smoothness and comfort. Promoted by the life’s idea of returning to nature and green revolution, the natural silk products have come to the first love for the one in pursuit of high-quality life,      according to environment protecting and health caring. With introducing the high-tech means to the silk production area, silk, with ancient charming, will be sure to radiate a more glorious brilliance.
